The Municipal Police of Madrid has interrupted several people from burning hedgehogs alive in barbecues in a street of the Pan Bendito neighborhood of Madrid, a spokesman for the Local Corps reported.
The police intervention took place at 15.30 on Thursday when the agents were notified of what was happening. However, the perpetrators saw the police arriving and managed to flee the place precipitously.
The agents found a box of 12 live hedgehogs and a portable gas barbecue installed on a wooden bench with four burnt and dead hedgehogs. They also found three other small barbecues and a blowtorch.
